Monthly Club Dives

Club dives are scheduled monthly at area lakes and may include camping, cook outs and other activities for non-divers. Annual dives to plan ahead for, include the annual Pumpkin Carving contest in October, and the Easter Egg hunt (normally the weekend before Easter). In cold weather, you can take part in """fun""" golf tournaments (easy scramble formats), or we will plan a field trip. If all else fails someone will figure out an activity to take the place of a club sponsored dive.

Next Month's Dive:

We are planning on going to the Guadalupe River, at Lazy L & L Campground (they have a website), Saturday, August 16, 2008.  Many will go on Friday, August 15, 2008, and return on Sunday, August 17, 2008; carpooling is encouraged because of gas prices and rental rates!  The Bottom Time Dive Club will provide food on Saturday, otherwise you need to bring your own drinks and food.

Lazy L & L has RV sites available at $35/day (I believe all sites are RV sites, so I am reserving two anyway).  Tent sites are $28/day per carload (a carload is up to 4 people); any number of tents may be in the car.  Tub rentals are as follows: With bottoms - $15, without bottoms - $13 (I think this means the tubes, not the individual, but we are a cosmopolitan group); cooler in tube - $15; rafts are available and everything requires a $10 - $15 refundable deposit.  Tube rentals include transport fees (take you upstream, pick you up downstream).

From the meeting last night, the following persons have indicated that they will attend:

Glenda Pruner - Donna Graham - Bob Mitchell
Phil and Anita Landers (can carpool others)
Randall Moore
Don and Jeanne Barrett (RV)
Marlin and Cindy McCasland, and Aaron (can carpool)
Pat and Angela Baucom
Damon and Alex Reed, Rachel and Jordan Adair
Ray, Catherine, Dennis, and Teri (being pressured to join Dive Club!)
Victor and Anne Land (must check the date)
Mary and Billy Massingill (must check the date)

So far that is 25 probable, and 10 cars, unless we start to bundle together.

Any persons wanting to go or drop out, need to let Damon Reed know by tomorrow, June 12, at 4 p.m.  Damon can be reached at 254/855-6478, damon@reynalaw.com, or dlreed1010@aol.com.
